A large fintech organization had no centralized way to log and track system downtime. Incidents were reported manually across disconnected channels, resolution times were invisible, and leadership had no real-time view of operational health or compliance audit trail.

300+ incidents tracked and resolved across 10+ internal teams since launch. The platform became the organization's primary operations health tool within weeks of going live, replacing fragmented manual reporting entirely.

The challenge

Downtime in a fintech doesn't just hurt ops — it carries regulatory risk. The client needed a system that could capture incidents accurately, attribute them to the right systems and teams, and generate reports that could survive a compliance audit. Speed of reporting mattered as much as accuracy.

Architecture decisions

We chose PHP and SQL for their existing infrastructure compatibility — the team needed zero new tooling to run and maintain it. The reporting layer uses aggregated SQL views so dashboards stay fast even as incident volume grows. JavaScript handles the real-time status updates without a full SPA framework overhead.

Rollout

We onboarded teams in phases, starting with the highest-incident departments. Each phase included a brief training session and a feedback loop that shaped the next iteration. Full org deployment was complete within the first month.
